Controller and Financial Analyst - Auxiliary (80%)

The Finance Service (SFIN) of the City of Lausanne is responsible for the financial and accounting management of the City. It oversees budgeting processes, budget monitoring, and the account closing procedure in collaboration with the administration's directorates.

Within the SFIN, the management control and financial analysis unit (CAF) is in charge of budgeting processes, financial analyses, and financial monitoring.

As part of a maternity leave replacement, we are looking for a controller and financial analyst auxiliary for a 12-month mission. You will join a dedicated team and actively participate in strategic and transversal missions, providing support to various activities of the unit.

Main Responsibilities

• Participate in the organization, development, and management of the municipal budget process, in collaboration with the budget manager.
• Assist departments in preparing their budgets, analyze their requests, and propose recommendations.
• Ensure budget execution monitoring, establish financial projections, analyze discrepancies, and contribute to closing activities.
• Advise departments and services on financial matters while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
• Conduct economic and financial analyses and monitor specific themes or projects.
• Participate in monitoring participations, guarantees, and subsidies.

Profile

• University master's degree in economic sciences (HEC) or federal diploma as a finance and controlling expert or equivalent training.
• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in financial analysis and reporting.
• Strong interest and knowledge of public service is desired.
• Good command of Excel and an ERP system (Abacus/SAP).
• Autonomy, proactivity, and rigor.
• Excellent analytical and synthesis skills.
