The Role:

The successful candidate will be part of Bellevue’s Global Healthcare investment team and partner with fund managers and investment specialists of their leading Healthcare franchise. S/he will work closely with a team of 2 portfolio managers to generate value for investors.

S/he will contribute significantly to alpha generation of their long-only equity strategies by identifying and covering the best global investment opportunities within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology investment universe globally, as well as gain exposure to the most senior corporate executives, key “opinion leader” physicians and scientist as well as other high profile industry experts.

Main Responsibilities:

• Generate stock ideas by assessing pharmaceutical and biotechnology company management, company strategy, clinical data, market potential and competitive landscape.
• Prepare, conduct and summarize company meetings.
• Create and update financial company models including valuation.
• Write thorough research reports and propose investments to fund managers.
• Ongoing monitoring of research coverage including news updates, earnings reports, company/industry conference calls and other data sources.
• Attend scientific/medical and investor conferences in the US, Europe and Asia.
• Communicate with clients or prospective clients, sales people and product management.

Candidate Profile:

Technical qualifications & competencies

• Bachelor’s degree or higher, either in science or finance, with a strong track record of academic achievement.
• The CFA designation and/or PhD qualification is a plus.
• 2-6 years of work experience as a buy-side or sell-side equity analyst covering pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology companies.
• Strong financial accounting and financial statement analysis skills, excellent detailed financial modelling and valuation skills. Strong quantitative, statistical and analytical thinking skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English is required. Fluency in German is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft office including advanced Excel skills, Bloomberg skills are a plus.
