Department Head Finance, Infrastructure and IT / Member of the Executive Board

Manage finances and key infrastructure areas of this prominent organization. The Asylorganisation Zürich AOZ is an independent public-law institution of the city of Zurich with over 2,200 employees. As a specialized organization for migration, integration, and education, it offers a variety of services for asylum seekers, temporarily admitted persons, and refugees. Clients include federal, cantonal, municipal, and other public institutions. We are seeking an experienced individual as Department Head Finance, Infrastructure, and IT.

In this critical role, you will be responsible for the overall financial management of the organization and the leadership of the Finance, Infrastructure, and IT department with approximately 110 employees. You will define the strategic framework for finance and controlling and ensure its implementation.

  • Overall responsibility for financial strategy, controlling, and accounting (HRM2)
  • Management of planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
  • Ensuring transparency, efficiency, and compliance with legal requirements
  • Advising executive management and the board on strategic issues
  • Responsibility for financial risks, compliance, and internal control systems (ICS)
  • Strategic management and further development of IT and real estate areas
  • Collaboration with the Social Department of the City of Zurich and political committees

Your qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a comparable field
  • Several years of leadership experience in a similar role
  • In-depth knowledge of finance and accounting, controlling, as well as governance and compliance issues and respective administrative processes
  • Experience in the development and implementation of management and controlling models
  • Analytical and conceptual strengths combined with high implementation competency
  • Confident appearance and strong communication skills at executive and board level as well as with diverse target groups.
