Head of Controlling

Join our team immediately or by agreement as the Head of Controlling. Be an active part of our exciting company-wide transformation phase. This position includes overall responsibility for cost and profit accounting, corporate planning, financial statements, and group reporting. In this key role, the Head of Controlling acts as a central sparring partner for the CFO, management, and various business areas.

Responsibilities

• Build and continuously develop a modern controlling system.
• Manage and lead the multi-member controlling team, including central controlling and business partners from various business fields.
• Define and implement a target vision for the controlling organization, including the expansion of business partnering.
• Provide professional leadership for the development and implementation of concepts as part of a group-wide project aimed at modernizing and digitalizing financial leadership.
• Strengthen governance for cost accounting and create a handbook with clear guidelines.
• Optimize and further develop financial and business processes as well as value flows.
• Ensure timely annual, quarterly, and monthly financial closings.
• Produce meaningful management and financial reports (including forecasts, KPIs, analysis, recommendations) and actively participate in business reviews with business fields.
• Manage all planning processes (FC, budget, medium-term planning) with the support of department heads and business partners.
• Lead the risk management process of Energie 360° and specifically for the procurement of energy carriers.
• Coordinate and reconcile the 'Regulatory Accounting' processes (tariff calculation gas network) with relevant departments.
• Support and train departments on controlling and business management issues.
• Lead and participate in cross-departmental projects and enable company development.

Your Profile

• Degree in Business Administration (FH, University) or expertise in accounting and controlling.
• Several years of professional and managerial experience in controlling and finance within the energy sector or industrial environment.
• Strong IT affinity and knowledge in modern reporting and analytics tools.
• Familiarity with ERP systems (especially SAP-FI/CO and Odoo), BI tools, process representation, and value flows.
• Excellent analytical skills and a systematic, structured approach to work.
• Ability to take on strategic tasks while being willing to get involved in day-to-day operations.
• Strong conceptual abilities and drive for implementing processes and solutions.
• High flexibility and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, with a willingness to go the extra mile.
• Solution-oriented, resilient personality with natural assertiveness.
• Strong communication skills and fluent German at native or C2 level.
