Head of Finance & Administration 100% (m/w/d)

Caritas Switzerland will operate asylum centers for families, individuals, and unaccompanied minors (MNA) at six locations in the Canton of Zurich starting in March 2024, on behalf of the cantonal social department (KSA).

Responsibilities

• Define, monitor, and optimize administrative and financial processes in collaboration with management.
• Lead and organize accounting in partnership with the head office.
• Co-responsible for the preparation of monthly and quarterly closures as well as invoicing.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets.
• Support asylum centers in all financial matters.
• Ensure compliance with cantonal guidelines and Caritas Switzerland's policies in finance and administration.
• Implement a dashboard and ensure regular analytical reporting.
• Manage the internal control system and ensure proper monitoring.

Requirements

• Federal diploma in finance and accounting with at least 5 years of experience in a relevant position or an equivalent degree/Bachelor from a business school (HEG).
• Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role managing a budget of at least 1 million (state and semi-state financing).
• Excellent organizational skills and independence, able to handle multiple tasks with precision and diligence.
• Strong analytical and synthesis skills, foresight, and planning ability.
• Proficiency in German (spoken and written) with excellent editorial skills.
• Very good command of applications (Abacus) and common office software.
• Knowledge in controlling, conducting audits, and handling legal disputes.
